Constructed on the site of the old pigsties and swill house, making use of the old reclaimed bricks, tiles and oak beams, the building blends in with its neighbours and looks as if it has been standing for two hundred years or more. At the same time the cottage enjoys all the benefits of modern living with double glazed windows and gas central heating. |
| We have been able to incorporate the requirements of level 2 of the English Tourism Council's National Accessible Scheme without giving any feeling at all that the cottage is designed only for the disabled. The livingroom contains a sofa bed for the benefit of single people with disabilities requiring a second bed for carers. Figtree cottage is built onto the side of Walnut Tree Cottage and the two cottages taken together provide an ideal solution for family members or friends who wish to holiday together but retain their privacy. |
